Christinne B. Care Companion in Royse City, TX 75189

My name is Christinne Barnes. By trade, I am a Medical Assistant for 10 years, and a Teacher/Administrative Assistant for 28+ years.
I do not have PAID experience with companion care, but I do have experience. I helped care for my father-in-law. He developed Alzheimers and Dementia. I would keep him company, make sure he took his medication, keep him engaged in activities he enjoyed, like going for walks.
I also helped care for my Grandmother when she would stay with my Mom. She didn't have any medical issues, but she did require many doctor appointments. I cooked for her and cleaned up after her after her meals. I learned her cues and figured out when she needed to rest.
I am a great conversationalist. I enjoy running people on errands, driving them to their appointments, or just getting them out for walks. My hobbies are crocheting and reading, and could incorporate either or both into daily care. I know keeping an elderly person's mind active goes a long way in their overall health. We especially learned this with my Grandmother.
I am looking for either a full-time care position, at least 30-40 hours a week, and a salary of $25-$30 an hour.
I live in Royse City, in the 75189 zip code area. I am willing to travel up to 20 miles daily.
I am ok with driving to appointments, or grocery store/shopping.
I would like to serve/care in the same way a family member would.
