I have been a caretaker for the elderly within the last 4 years. I was a bookkeeper but life led me on a different path. I have a 22 year old Autistic daughter but I also had elderly parents. My mom passed in 2014 & my sister's felt I would be the best fit to take care of our dad who had dementia. My daughter did give me a different perspective on my life's goals. Office work was no longer for me. I've always had a natural need to look after others. I'm not bragging but there is something in me that gives me the patience & compassion to help others. I just enjoy it & it helps me also. I feel like it's a gift that was given to me when i didn't really excel at other things. I'm easy going, friendly & usually get along with everyone. I haven't worked for a while because i needed to be home with my daughter during COVID. I also don't know how the the job market works anymore so I feel i just need to be honest. If I get a job it would really hellp us but if not my husband still had his.
