I spent the past 10 years working in full-time church ministry, and the two years beforehand as a summertime nanny for an 11-year-old. These roles have given me a love for sharing life with other people, as well as experience in anticipating and caring for the needs of others. I’ve also learned the challenges involved with providing proper care for a loved one after my mother suffered a stroke at an early age. In the two years I helped take care of her, I learned how to juggle complicated medical needs, help her navigate day-to-day tasks with physical disabilities (including wheelchair limitations), manage transportation, errands, & doctor appointments, and provide compassion, encouragement, & motivation in her healing process. My experience has given me great appreciation for those in the caregiving field, and has taught me from the inside the kind of character and skills that are valuable in making sure a loved one is well cared for.
