Although not officially/professionally, I have been taking care of others for quite some time including people in my family and friends. I consider myself a care companion because I do not want to establish a power dynamic within the work atmosphere, additionally I have cared for both children and the elderly. In doing so, I have been certified in CPR/first aid, was in the process of earning my CPA (Certified Practitioner's Assistant - similar to a nurse) when my family moved abroad, and I have had to administer strong medication / nursing practices (changing adult diapers, feeding tubes, etc) while caring for disabled patients.
