I believe that persons with dementia, Alzheimer's or other disabilities feel and respond to loving care and respect, whether they can communicate or not. I have been employed by a home companion care company.  I was very close to my uncle, who developed Alzheimer's. I visited him, taking walks and sharing meals with him. I have provided Companion Care for a woman with early-onset dementia, and a woman in hospice care. I provide Companion Care. I am not a PCA, however I've been certified in CPR, AED. Sharing time, caring, talking about present and past, engaging in stimulating activities. I oversee and assist elders with many activities of daily living. Your loved one maybe mostly capable of doing, may need some assistance with, dressing, hearing aids, basic hygiene, e.g. using toilet, brushing teeth, hair and maintaining balance.
