I’d like to start by saying I’m not a registered nurse or anything like that... I’m simply someone who cares. I’m the proud mother of two amazing girls (age 22 and 16). I’ve had the honor of caring for friends and loved ones during their most difficult times and found it to be incredibly rewarding.

What started me down this path was one of my best friends past away from Lupus, during his several year ordeal I helped care for him. Dispensed medication, assisted with colostomy bags, bed pans, changed sheets, assisted with physical therapy (as directed/instructed by physician), drove to/from doctor appointments, prepared meals, etc. Some find this type of work stressful but I found it rewarding and inspiring. Finding new ways to put a smile on his face made every day worth it.

Reading books with, surprising with flowers, finding what makes the aging or ailing individuals I work with feel youthful or happy again makes it all worth it.

At the end of the day we’re all human beings that deserve to be treated with dignity and respect at all stages of lives regardless of what we’re going through.

I do ask that I’m given detailed instructions and I do ask a lot of questions, because I take caring for others very seriously. For example, if I’m assisting with someone that is under hospice care if there is a “do not resuscitate” I need to know that.
