Hope’s Bio
For the past twenty-five years I have worked in the field of developmental disabilities and mental illness in a variety of positions. In those twenty-five years I have had the opportunity to work with adults, children and Geriatrics. I have been fortunate enough to be able to involve myself with the teams of clinicians, social workers, therapists, physicians and nurses who also have been responsible for their care. I not only love what I do, but have been able to familiarize myself with state regulations, mandates, and policies specific to several different types of agencies within the state of New York and Maine. I have managed residential programs with AIM, Inc., and have had direct supervision of over 14 consumers and 18 staff members. While managing these residential programs I have been able to mange the needs of the individuals, the staff and the agency. This required the recording, maintaining and providing staff trainings, payroll, and staffing needs 24 hours a day. Also I was required to record, report and maintain all the medical, behavioral, and finical records of the individuals in the home I supervised.
I have provided a variety of services to family and children in need while in the state of Maine, I assisted other foster families and biological families with meeting the requirements requested by the DHS, While I provided direct support, I was responsible to maintain detailed records that where used in court proceeding and a variety of therapy session to support the children within my case load. During these many years of experience I have gained the respect of the consumers, their families, the staff and administration. I have learned how to work well with many different personalities, in both office settings and through telecommunications. I have a sound understand of many different systems and the importance of solid record keeping.
