I love working with people of all ages. I have cared for my elderly parents as well as volunteered with older adults in North Carolina at nursing homes and assisted living facilities. I am an extremely compassionate, patient, caring person with endless interest in making others feel comfortable and as though they are able to live the life they dream for themselves. If I could be part of helping an independent older person participate fully in life it would be very fulfilling for me. I love being with people and interacting with them in meaningful ways. I am open to whatever assistance would be most helpful be it driving, housework, companionship, transportation, pet care, food preparation, etc. Thank you for the opportunity to apply.

I hold a valid Vermont state teachers license, and I am first aid and CPR certified, valid for the next 2 years. I have previously worked in many different types of jobs including working at the Brattleboro Retreat when they used to have an older adult unit as well as inpatient psychiatry for adolescents. I've worked with teens in state custody and foster care and taught Spanish and health education to middle school and high school students. I've worked with older teens in state custody to learn transitional adult living skills as well as with transitioning youth with autism learning life skills. I have worked as a warehouse and shipping and receiving team member at a very busy book clearinghouse and publisher. My passions are helping people feel comfortable, understood, empowered and satisfied with themselves. I adore animals and would love helping care for them if the need arose. I have also traveled the world extensively and love to talk and converse about world affairs, culture and language. Additionally, I worked for 2 years at a yoga center in the housekeeping department so I feel very comfortable with all manners of light to somewhat heavier duty housework and cleaning.
