I have had a broad range of experience and folks I have worked with in my life. As far as care providing goes, I spent several months working in an assisted living home with those with early onset Dementia and Alzheimers. I learned how to work with folks needing different levels of physical and emotional support, giving equal respect to each person. Some required basic needs care, like using the bathroom and bathing, where as others occasionally needed support to stand and just someone to keep them company. I have also worked with those experiencing mental illness and cognitive disabilities to provide support and referrals to services. No matter what someone's experience, I love getting to know new people and learning what kind of support they desire.
