Home Care Rates $25 per hour
Lorie’s Bio
After graduating from College with a degree Human Biology, I started working in Nursing homes and then as a HCA. I decided Nursing was not for me at the time, but
I did have good person-centered care skills. I discovered a passion for cooking and nutrition; I realized I could help people by providing them quality meals in their homes. I began to take cooking/personal chef courses and worked in restaurants.
I launched my Personal Chef Business in the early 2000’s and fed many people in their homes for over 15yrs. I also supplemented my income by caregiving. I had a wonderful client who had MS. Her husband was the only caregiver at the time I was cooking for them. Some of my happiest work memories are the times I was a caregiver for them.
I decided to take a break from the physical and mental demands of Personal Chef work, I found a job as a Nanny with four young children.
Covid hit and it became more challenging to find Nanny work. I decided to go back to the industrial kitchens. My first job was in a skilled nursing facility as a dinner cook.
I enjoyed interacting with the residents. I also spent two and a half years running the Crave Cafe in the T-Mobile call center. I learned a lot about managing a restaurant and employees.
I am ready to transition back to private care where I can work with clients one on one. The time I have spent with the Home Care clients has been very rewarding.
I am willing to do any additional background and/ or driving record checks.

Exceptional Care for a Busy Household!
We were so impressed with Lorie Lockwood and the way she cared for and interacted with our six kids, ages 15, 13, 11, 10, 9, 7, and 2. It’s no small feat to balance the needs of such a wide range of ages, but Lorie handled it with patience, energy, and genuine warmth.
She engaged each child at their own level — from playing and reading with the toddler, to having fun and meaningful conversations with the older kids. She even brought creativity and fresh air into their day by doing art projects together and spending time playing outside. On top of that, she was thoughtful and accommodating to our vegan lifestyle, making sure meals and snacks were in line with our family’s values. Everyone felt seen, heard, and cared for.
We especially appreciated Lorie’s ability to manage the natural chaos of a large household while keeping things running smoothly. Our kids were happy, safe, and well-occupied, and they’re already asking when Lorie can come back. We highly recommend her to any family looking for a caring, capable, and trustworthy caregiver.
Lori cooked and grocery shopped for my family for a few years and she is a fantastic professional cook who made many meals for us. Highly recommend Lori!
BTW, very honest and helpful, she cooked at times when we were not home and we were very comfortable, thankful to have her.
