I had experience with my recently deceased father who had a lot of health problems. He lived in an elderly planning center and he did not want to do social activities, but I would urge him to participate with me. He had dementia, alcoholism, and was often angry. To alleviate his struggle, I was a patient and non-judgmental care giver.
I have always been able to bring out interest levels by sequestering people about their various interests. I am available between the hours of 5 pm and 7 pm to cook meals and attend meals with your father. I work during the day for Seattle Public Schools in Special Education.
