I am 52 year old female with care giving experience .
I took Care giver training in 2012 then had my first hands on experiences at Retsil Verterans home before Joining Home Instead Senior care from 2012 to 2013 to get exposure to different varied circumstances in order to help take care of my relatives on a as needed basis.
In that time with Home Instead Senior care I preferred the assignments that had me stay for long weekends to get to know the clients and make sure they had continuity in their personal care and the upkeep of their living environment .
The first lady I helped had Alzheimer's and I would stay with her Fri to Mon mornings. Helped with entertainment, personal care, meals, shopping ,appointments
Next was a gentlemen with Alzheimer's I would have over night stays with. Made sure his personal care and meals were taken care of .
Another lady who had Alzheimer's that I would go to her house in the mornings to help her husband with his wife's .
I helped two separate ladies in end stages of Alzheimer's who both had cancer. Helped with personal care , meals,pain management .
I only mention the long stays with these folks to give insight into me getting to know and understand were I could best be of use .
I had visits were I stayed for and hour or two as well when needed.
