Angelia’s Bio

I’m a very family oriented, loving, and spiritual person. I cared for both of my parents before they passed away, my grandparents, and several other family members. I have also cared for children and animals for many years so caregiving comes naturally to me. You may view my other profiles on this site to learn about my experience in those areas as well! It brings me a lot of joy to help other people and I enjoy building close relationships with others. I’ve studied nursing in the past but decided that wasn’t the profession I wanted to pursue because I didn’t agree with some of the treatments being performed since I am more of a holistic minded individual. I did attain a lot of medical knowledge which came in handy while caring for my father in his final years so I’m grateful for that. He was legally blind, had 3 strokes and 3 heart attacks as well as some genetic medical issues related to his Egyptian background. His parents were first cousins which is a common thing in Egypt but it definitely caused him some health complications. I was with him 24/7 day and night for years while he was ill and when he was well too! I always loved being by his side because we were very close. He had a lot of mobility issues so he did rely on me for just about everything. He passed on his birthday in 2008. My mother who was also my best friend was more independent in her final years up until her final three months due to a surgery she had which left her terminal and on hospice at home. Her immune system was compromised due to all of the chemotherapy she had throughout her life spanning over 20 years. Her and I also believed that her last surgeon harmed her due to his negligence or intentionally. Unfortunately, it caused her to pass at the age of 56 in 2011. I stayed with her around the clock when she was no longer independent. We also had hospice care nurses coming into her home towards the very end of her life. I miss both of my parents dearly. My grandfather was in his late 80s when he needed care and I moved in with him at that time prior to him being transferred to a hospice care facility. What was ironic is that my mother was a volunteer at that same facility for over 5 years. He was her last patient and her father. I also helped care for my great uncle on my father’s side while he was in his 90s and enjoyed spending time with him before he passed away. He was always full of laughter. I am more than happy to talk with you. Contact me direct to discuss your needs.
