Mindy’s Bio
During middle school I volunteered as a candy striper at my town's local nursing home. I read to the elderly, helped bathe them, helped hand out medication and spent endless hours listening to the tales of their lives.
While I have much more experience with babies, children, and youths under 25, I have a soft spot for the elderly. I'm a huge fan of reading and often I find only the elderly are familiar with many of my favorite authors.
My own grandfathers died extremely young - one from cancer and the other from schizophrenia (self-inflicted end). My grandmothers didn't last much longer - one died from cancer and the other acquired full-fledged Alzheimers at the age of 69. Despite this, my grandparents were some the most influential characters I had growing up.
I'm first-aid and CPR certified and I truly enjoy taking care of and chatting with the elderly.
