I used to be a caregiver and I also went to school to become a CNA but then COVID came and I couldn’t take my exam back then and then soon enough I went to becoming a Nanny for five years instead. But I learned a lot throughout my NA-C training and even before that when I was already working as a caregiver for the Korean’s Women’s Association I worked in Seattle and in Burien taking my clients to the food bank by walking (close to home, clients preference for exercise), bathing, making food, doing laundry, assist in walking around house if needed, medication reminder and getting mail for my clients weekly.

I enjoyed doing this because as you get older I know my clients get lonely as times, they are also very good with story telling, enjoy hearing about their life as they aged. I have two grandmas and I love being around them, some elderly clients may be grumpy but once they get to know you they open up and are very kind, probably just had a tough life and difficult time trusting new people into their home due to used to being independent for so long and now depending on someone is not very easy for some, I know this first hand. But I enjoy helping my clients so they can live out the rest of their lives calmly and at peace knowing someone cares for them as if they were their own grandparent.
