We have lived in California for the past 7 years but are returning back to the North Shore this summer where Mom is from. Our oldest is a super easy kid, loves to be active and do arts and crafts. She is really empathetic and a wonderful older sister. Our youngest is incredibly opinionated/strong willed and hilarious. She is very girly and loves nail polish, jewelry, and dresses.
We have had the same nanny since our oldest was born (6 years!). She became like family and was so wonderful and loving to our kids but also so incredibly helpful to us as parents!
The most important thing is to have someone who is kind, responsible, will love our kids, keep them safe and help shape them into good people! Other things we really value are someone who is very reliable and able to be flexible with the schedule.
