Growing up in a big family I was always around children! In addition to having a lot of younger cousins my parents had decided to have my two younger sisters. There is a 15 and 17 year age gap between me and them. As an older sister I was always willing to watch my siblings when my parents could not. When I first started babysitting I had the pleasure of nannying a family that had 5 children, the oldest being 13 and the youngest being 2 years old. (An example of this would be giving a five minute warning if our play is coming to an end, to avoid a transition meltdown, when playing playdoh setting expectations before playing as far and how to use the playdoh appropriately etc. I love kids and enjoy playing with them and learning together. l appreciate going to the park and helping children with their homework, and reading books or playing games. My kids are getting older and I now have time to work again.
