Hi! My names Josey and I’m a local here in Santa Cruz. I am attending courses at Cabrillo and have received degrees in Early childhood Education, Health Sciences, and Liberal Arts & Sciences with an emphasis in Interdisciplinary Studies, all with honors. I have also been awarded my anti bias certification and my certification for working with diverse families. Currently, I am working on receiving my teaching certification. I did volunteer work with Cowells junior guards as a captain. The captains help the instructors with the junior guards (ages 5-12). Before I was able to work with the children I was certified in CPR and AED. My first job was as a lifeguard at Simpkins Family Swim Center for 2 years. I was certified in lifeguard training, first aid, CPR and AED. I taught swim lessons, all ages but mostly ages 2-8. Toddlers are so much fun! I also did childcare and little guards. Little guards and swim lessons were really fun because I got to know the children. By the end of the sessions, we would be laughing and playing around together. I worked with Head Start as a part time teachers assistant. Prior to being part time, I was working on call. I have had the opportunity to work with children from 6 months - 6 years with Head Start. After leaving Head Start, I worked at Coastal Community Preschool in the toddler classroom. I sometimes return to the school as a sub. I've worked as a nanny and babysitter off and on throughout my life. When I am with the children, they receive my undivided attention. When there is down time, I am more than happy to take care of household chores. I am comfortable working with all ages. This past year I have had the joy of increasing my infant care experience. I was recently re-certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid. I have completed my Title 22 requirements for working with children. I completed a background check with Head Start, Cabrillo, and Coastal Communities but it does not show on SitterCity. Please ask to see my credentials! I am happy to provide you with any documentation that you would like. I look forwards to meeting you and your children.

Hi my name is Tanya! I have been around kids all my life since my mom had an at home daycare so she could work and raise my younger sister and I. Being around infants and toddlers all my life I have learned how to work and handle whatever situation gets thrown my way. I started working with kids on my own at the young age of 13 being a babysitter for my neighbors and watching their kids while they went out on date nights. As I got older I got recommended to other families by my neighgors and started getting more and more families to fill my weekends and sometimes even week nights. At the age of 19 I started my first nanny job (another referral) with a family I had never met. They needed someone to watch their 7 week old baby girl FULL TIME! I was on winter break from college so I said I could help. Flash forward four and a half years later and I still work with them, but only part time since I'm still in school. Our families have become very close and I even went on vacation with them to watch the kids while they went out on the town. I go to San Jose SU and through referrals I have also managed to connect with great families to work for over the hill. I live in San Jose part time and then come home to Soquel on the weekend, so I can work at either place. I have tons of great referrals upon request and all families are available to call and eager to talk about their experience working with me. What I will do: Pick up and drop off kids after school Take kids to after school activities Help with homework Feed kids Prep them for bed time Get them to bed on time (you tell me their bed time they will be in bed on the dot no excuses) Other respnsilities you need we can talk about them and discuss what I will and won't do. I love working with infants (I've always wanted to work with twins) and children under the age on 12. I am CPR certified And I have loads of energy to spend time playing with your kids be it indoors or outdoors.

I have been a private career nanny for multiple families (for ages 7 months and up) for over 14 years now, as well as a daycare teacher assistant and an Au Pair. I connect very well with children; I enjoy working with the magical little beings because I’m inspired by their contagiously high-spirits and spontaneous creativity! I offer children an abundance of presence and play. I encourage nature-based exploration, creativity cultivation, and problem-solving. I draw inspiration from elements of alternative education philosophies, but I’m mostly interested in letting the child lead while I provide the appropriate boundaries and guidance. Each child is so unique, and my goal is to facilitate their unfolding. I would be a good fit for your family if you are looking for a responsible nanny with a good heart, an authentic appreciation for kids, and someone who will provide a positive contribution to their development.

I have taken care of two children for at least 5 years. They had some problems eating just because of tantrums or watching TV (I mean when they didn't decide on the same cartoon), but I was able to work it out. I learned to talk to them and be a more patient person because of it. I never had to yell at them and I don't even like that when I see it in some families. I learned to be more creative when making breakfasts or meals for them and also to have them collaborate with me in activities that they can do. For example, cleaning up something they would like to help with. I also have knowledge of first aid for children and adults.
