Hi! My names Josey and I’m a local here in Santa Cruz. I am attending courses at Cabrillo and have received degrees in Early childhood Education, Health Sciences, and Liberal Arts & Sciences with an emphasis in Interdisciplinary Studies, all with honors. I have also been awarded my anti bias certification and my certification for working with diverse families. Currently, I am working on receiving my teaching certification. I did volunteer work with Cowells junior guards as a captain. The captains help the instructors with the junior guards (ages 5-12). Before I was able to work with the children I was certified in CPR and AED. My first job was as a lifeguard at Simpkins Family Swim Center for 2 years. I was certified in lifeguard training, first aid, CPR and AED. I taught swim lessons, all ages but mostly ages 2-8. Toddlers are so much fun! I also did childcare and little guards. Little guards and swim lessons were really fun because I got to know the children. By the end of the sessions, we would be laughing and playing around together. I worked with Head Start as a part time teachers assistant. Prior to being part time, I was working on call. I have had the opportunity to work with children from 6 months - 6 years with Head Start. After leaving Head Start, I worked at Coastal Community Preschool in the toddler classroom. I sometimes return to the school as a sub. I've worked as a nanny and babysitter off and on throughout my life. When I am with the children, they receive my undivided attention. When there is down time, I am more than happy to take care of household chores. I am comfortable working with all ages. This past year I have had the joy of increasing my infant care experience. I was recently re-certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid. I have completed my Title 22 requirements for working with children. Hi my name is Tanya! I have been around kids all my life since my mom had an at home daycare so she could work and raise my younger sister and I. Being around infants and toddlers all my life I have learned how to work and handle whatever situation gets thrown my way. Hi, My name is Katie, I have experience working with all age groups- infants, toddlers, and preteens. I love what I do! I have been a nanny for about 10 years... Everyday is packed full of fun-making cookies out of clay, playing cars, talking about cartoons, packing picnics for the park, counting, learning colors, learning manners, speech development, sharing, playing with peers, bike rides/wagon rides all around the neighborhood and more. During the years (2017- March 2020), I cared for 3 children - 2 girls and 1 boy. Their ages were 6, 4 and 2. I was with them for a little over 2 years. My hours were from 9am to 3pm in the Summer and 9am to 5pm during the school year. My job duties included entertaining the children with various activities (soccer, arts and crafts, card/board games, baking, ect), drop-offs/pick-ups from school, hosting playdates, helping with homework, as well grocery shopping and keeping the house tidy.
