Hello, parents! I live Morgan Hill and have ample time for OCCASIONAL care on Monday and Friday mornings and afternoons, Friday and Saturday evenings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. I'm also available to assist at children's parties, field trips and events, supervise playgroups and weekend travel or overnights. I am only able to post a few weeks consecutive availability at once, but I usually plan two months available hours at once, so please feel free to inquire about dates beyond the month you see posted! I'm very experienced with infants and children from 3 months to six years of age. I enjoy spending time with children who appreciate crafts, books, time outside, sciences, building and cooking. I also have extensive experience teaching children ages 3-8 to read confidently, and would be very happy to aid struggling readers in our time together. I provide a careful balance of time indoors and out (regardless of rain or wind), and love to watch children cultivate new interests and skills during our time together! I am also very, extremely, super pet friendly (mammals, rodents, birds, fish, reptiles, even some insects) and would love to meet a few regular, local families with sweet fur babies to add to the mix. During my time with children, I focus exclusively on the child— I do not perform any domestic tasks such as washing family dishes, folding laundry, cleaning kitchens or bathrooms, etc. I handle any messes made throughout the course of my time with children, and fully expect children who are able to walk to aid in putting away toys and books, wiping up crumbs and carrying dishes to be washed at the sink. I encourage a great deal of autonomy and accountability in young children and am often described by parents as "firm but fair." I believe and have always seen that children are capable of a great deal, and when we are together, I push them to meet that potential in diverse ways! I prefer to have the opportunity to thoroughly interview AND meet with a family before accepting a booking, to make sure we are a good fit before we commit our time to one another. This also is a chance for your children to meet me so that I am a familiar face, rather than a stranger! I have a four hour minimum and a small deposit each request, and prefer not to have occasional bookings of more than 6 hours in duration.

Not only will your children be safe and happy, I will do my best to engage and to enrich them as well.  I will act as a good role model at all times. I do not text socially, or facebook or twitter-I will be paying attention to the safety and needs of your children. I  will not watch or listen to anything that is remotely inappropriate for children. I have a clean driving record and I am a strong swimmer. I am vaccinated against whopping cough and I have a current, negative, TB test.  At your request, I can take your kids on outings. I am available for Friday and Saturday overnights. I have lots of experience with newborns through young adults. I also have lots of experience with special needs. I will always try to make things fun and light, while still following the rules and guidlines in your home. I am completely dependable and honest, and I will always respect the privacy of your family. My fingerprints are cleared through the State of California, as I have worked for VUSD for over 6 years as a substitute teacher (for all levels, subjects and grades).  Prior to that I worked at Amgen, but chose to leave to care for my own two children...but, now, they're grown.
