I have been a child care provider for 13 years and counting. As a professional Nanny and Early Childhood Educator, I have experience caring for children from infants to pre-teens. I am currently employed as a Nanny for two-year-old twins. I am also a part-time student. I am available all day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and every other Friday morning. I am also available some Saturdays.
My most recent experiences include nannying for an infant from when he was four months; I still watch him part-time, and he is now one. I am also a part-time Nanny for another child, who is one-and-a-half-years old.
Some of my past experiences include working as a part-time Assistant Teacher in the Preschool/Pre-K room from April 2009 to May 2010. I also worked as an Assistant Teacher in the one to two-year-old room and the two-and-a-half to three-year-old room. I worked as a full-time Co-Lead Teacher in the Preschool room at The Goddard School from July 2010 to December 2010. I worked for an after-school program called Kaleidoscope Corner from May of 2013 until December, and before that I was a Nanny from October 2011 to October 2012. I am currently earning a B.A. In Psychology.
I received an Early Childhood Education Certificate through Aims Community College; I have over 20 credits in Early Childhood Education courses. I have always had a knack for caring for and teaching children. I love children and have their best interest at heart. I don't believe that children should just be "baby-sat", I believe they need healthy, educational interactions with books, nature, art, and the like. I do not believe in punishing a child. I believe in redirecting a child's behavior using positive guidance strategies. It is very important to provide children with choices as this is vital to a child's sense of self.
I help infants, toddlers, and young children develop vocabulary and techniques to solve their own problems. I believe that developing a child's creativity and imagination skills is one of, if not the most, important thing one can do for a child. I intend to spend a lot of time doing art projects with your children, as well as singing, dancing, and playing pretend. I have quite an imagination myself and have always been very artistic and musical. I am very passionate about what I do, and what I do is teach (and learn) from children through play.
