For the past two years, I have worked as a private nanny for a family with three kids, where my duties included school/extracurricular pick-up/drop off, light housework, running errands, homework help, and occasional over-night stays. Previously, I was a nanny for another family with an infant one summer, and the following summer when she turned two. In addition to that, I worked in a childcare center for three and a half years, the last of which I was the supervisor. My job required CPR and First Aid certifications, and challenged me to care for dozens of children at a time (aged 3 months to 12 years). I also developed a working knowledge of basic infant sign language (more, milk, thank you, please, all done, etc.) and Spanish. A really rewarding part of my job, particularly as a private nanny, is to work with the parents to figure out the best ways to cultivate creativity and a fun, positive attitude with their little ones. I have played guitar and sang for 16 years, and I performed in musical theatre for eight years. I have my Bachelor's of Arts in Communications and a minor in English, so I love reading, writing, and anything else creative/artistic.
