Hey! I'm Abi! I am 23 years old and have been working with kids my whole life! I started "working" when I was 11, helping my parents babysit my siblings who are 4 and 7 years younger than me. I started volunteering at the Clearview Library in Windsor, CO when I was 13, and loved helping with all the events surrounding children! My favorite was the Reading Bugs bookclub for children aged 6 to 8. There we did crafts and had snacks and of course read books! I consider myself to be very craft-y. I loved making crafts with my siblings when they were little! I started babysitting for my friend with two little boys in 2021 when they were just 6 months and 3 years old. In this role I have been a huge part of their development as a consistent caregiver for the past 5 years assising with everything from diaper changing and bottle making to now bedtime routine and helping read books on school nights. Since then I have worked as a household manager for a family with an 11 and 12 year old. In this role i took the kids home from school and to various after school activities, made dinner and kept the kitchen and living rooms clean and organized. I additionally have watched a 2 year old boy, taking him to the park, running around the back yard to find bugs, reading and watching shows (usually only when hes too tired to play anything else do we watch shows and he usually falls asleep on me before the first episode is over!). Hi!! My name is Jennifer, and I am a single mom of 2 boys, ages 19 and 22. I have been keeping my eyes and ears open for a position that would allow me to continue doing what I love (being around children)!! I love being outdoors whenever possible and was always at the park or taking walks with my boys when they were growing up!! My favorite part, if picked for this position, would be the ability to be an integral part of the children’s development. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a child grow and progress while in my care. Previously I was in the medical field, beginning as a certified nursing assistant while attending classes at Front Range University during my senior year of high school and my last position title was the office manager at an occupational medicine clinic which consisted of supervising 4 physicians, 2 physical therapists, and 2 medical assistants. I loved working with patients and got the opportunity to explore and gain knowledge in several different areas, which included both front and back-office experience. Unfortunately, 12 years ago I had surgery where the Surgeon nicked my intestine causing me to become septic and extremely sick. Since that surgery I’ve had to have 47 additional surgeries, making it not possible to return to work as I was constantly either in surgery or in recovery. Luckily, I’ve only had to have 2 surgeries in the past 3 years and the recovery time has only kept me out of commission fully for a week. I don’t have any restrictions other than lifting heavy items repeatedly. I started taking online classes to continue working towards my degree in human services with a concentration in substance abuse, and although I may ask to bring my schoolwork to work on if time permits, I am not physically in class and do not have to work on schoolwork throughout the day. I have intermittently taken nanny positions for the past 4 years, watching infants and children of families nearby. Ages range anywhere from 3 months to 14 years old, including a 3-year-old child with special needs. I have a lot of experience not only with raising my own children but am proud to provide the same amount of love and care for other families while their children are under my supervision.
