I have always loved taking care of children. In my younger years, I taught gymnastics to preschool-aged children while I was in high school and during my first year of college. I also babysat frequently for neighborhood families. My husband and I have raised three amazing sons who I homeschooled part-time while they attended either private or public school part-time. They have all graduated from college, and we continue to treasure any time we get to spend with them. Professionally, I owned my own business as a massage therapist for over twenty-four years. Although I loved the work that I did, it was time for me to retire and do something new, so I began a new adventure investing in the lives of children. For eleven months, I was a nanny in Parker for two little girls who were six months old and two years old at the time I started with them. We moved to Monument in 2019, so I started working as a nanny closer to home for a two-year-old and newborn until the family moved out of state. After that, I worked as a nanny for a one-year-old little boy and a three-year-old little boy, until the family no longer needed a nanny while they were on extended maternity leave. I began working as a preschool paraprofessional in 2022 and I am in my second year working as a part-time preschool teacher. I am CPR certified and have many hours and certifications in early childhood professional development, earning me a level three in credentialing with Colorado Shines PDIS. As a side note, I was a junior high leader at our church for seven years and hosted and facilitated junior high girls' small groups. I attended weekend camps and week-long mission trips with them. I have been working with children for almost 2 years. I spent a year working as a preschools teacher’s assistant with 3-4 year olds. Through that I gained a lot of experience and training. I loved playing and interacting with the children. Creating a safe and consistent environment to grow and learn in. Over the summer I was an AuPair in Italy for 3 months and took care of four children, two of them being twins, ages 1-3. It was an incredible experience and allowed me to be more involved in the everyday life and routine of the children and family. Since returning home from Italy, I have gotten the opportunity to substitute, at the preschool I used to work at, almost every week. This has allowed me to work with ages 18 months- 5 years old.
