I have been a nanny and babysat children throughout most of high school and college. I have 10 years of paid experience! I have a BS in Human Services with a concentration in Mental Health. I have babysat and nannied for many special needs children and teens. I have also worked with children with profound food allergies, deafness, Autism, Down syndrome, and Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita. I can sign and will gladly teach children who are not hearing impaired if you wish! I also have infant care experience and experience working with triplets and twins. I love children of all ages and enjoy their energy and simple enthusiasm for life. I love spending time outside in the rain or shine! I enjoy playing games, swimming and doing arts and crafts. Art is very important to me and I love to show children how to express themselves through sketching, sculpting with clay, or painting. Also, I understand how busy most parents can be, and sometimes even with the best of intentions, housework can sometimes begin to fall a bit behind. I never had a problem doing some cleaning and a few loads of laundry. I love to cook foreign dishes, and I also love to bake. I am mostly looking for a full-time/part-time job as a live-out nanny to a mature family- meaning mom and dad have steady jobs, and are not heading out the door to go hang out at the local bar at 11:30 a.m. I love working for secure families, people who truly love their children and are just trying to provide the best life possible for their little ones. Hi there my name is MariaElena. I am from Carolina Alta, Puerto Rico. I have been living in Gainesville, FL since I was 8 years old.  I am in the process of moving here  because my brother is a Warren Officer in the Marines and stationed here in Jacksonville NC.  I have been working in child care since the age of 13, started of  babysitting here and there until the age of 18 when I got a job in a daycare. I worked in daycare until the age of 22. I got married and started doing Nanny from home. I've been doing this now for a couple years. I feel like I love more to be a nanny because you get more of a one-on-one with a child rather than in a daycare environment there's a different ratio so you don't get that one on one. I have always wanted the parents to feel safe when they drop off their most precious gift and feel secured that I will care for them with my whole life as if they were my very own. I love what I do and I don't think that that will ever change, I feel like I can learn so much from the children and the same time they learn so much from me. Right now in Gainesville I have an in home daycare where I have eight children right now with another co-worker. The ages vary from 3 month old too a four year old. I have plenty of references that I am willing to give upon request. I like to have everybody on a schedule where they do Circle time, learning time, manipulatives, sensory,  outside time, arts and crafts, and so much more. Depending age we focus on colors, shapes, numbers, alphabet, writing, homework activities,  and any requirements for that age group. I have gotten kids ready for VPK that's a program that they have here in Gainesville I don't believe that they have it there in Jacksonville.
