Hello, my name is Shayla Selon. I am a 22-year-old college student attending the university of Georgia studying to become a speech-language pathologist, or an audiologist. In both children and adults I am CPR, first aid, and AED certified with Red Cross. I am a fun, playful, lovable young adult, who loves interacting with kids and has been told she has a great connection of children. My experience comes from shadowing and helping my grandma babysit my sister and cousins over the summer since I was 12 to 18. During my sophomore and junior of high school, I was in an early education class where there was a daycare with 2 to 4 years old I would interact with them three days a week. We would do different activities with them For example, we would go on the go outside on the playground, make art projects, helped them with their ABCs and counting. Since joining the site, parents have trusted me to watch their Two and four year old siblings. Occasionally, I also watch sisters that are five and 10 years old. Most recently I’ve been trusted take care of a six month old for the day and the allowed me to bring her to my apartment since the grandmother was at work, and the mother was traveling. I love the way their minds work. They are so smart and so intelligent at such a young age is very interesting. I will care and look after your children as if they are my own. I will actively report if anything happens and would love to be known of any allergies or any fears that they may have that prevent them from having good time under my care. I started babysitting my family members like my siblings, my cousins family friends at the age of 14 I did that up until I graduated high school and then I started working at a preschool as a lead teacher. I worked at the preschool for about a year and then I move town. As a lead teacher, my job was to potty train teach the kids their shapes colors, different animals like farm animals ocean animals zoo animals their alphabet the days of the week the month of the year weather their emotions in English and Spanish.
