I started off teaching kids skate school at my local ice rink and babysitting younger cousins as a teenager. After completing my bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois, I took a job as assistant director of an afterschool program for kids ages 5-9 who have been through trauma. The program focused on academic support, social-emotional skill building and gardening/outdoor education. I stayed there for several years and found the work incredibly rewarding. Since then, I have worked as a tutor in an elementary and middle school and as a full time nanny to my wonderful friend’s infant.
