My name is Adela, I have been a nanny for the past 5 years. I am an Early Childhood Education student, going for a teaching degree, AAS, 2nd year, with a Basic Certificate in Child Development.
I am also a mother, therefore my instincts are motherly.
I am looking for a family that needs my help, to care for the child/children at my residence in Riverside, Il. My hours of availibility would be from 8:00am to 5:00 pm. But this can be discussed. At my home, I have lots of educational toys, a jumper, books, cars, puzzles, balls, and many more. Furthermore, it is child proofed, because I have two children myself, one who is in school full time each day and one 1 1/2year old girl who is home with me. I would love to take care of another child at my house.
In My last job I helped raise two children from infant stage to 2 years of age. I developed a nice relationship with both the kids and the parents. I love books and reading, and I encourage lots of educational play. By this, I mean getting down on the floor with the toddler and actually playing and ecourage movement. Also, reading and art are very important for cognitive development, language especialy.
My motto is: "Invest time in your children for they are the most valuable investment."
Looking forward to work again with an amazing child, and help develop a sense of learning, also the love for knowing.

5 stars simply aren’t enough! If you are looking for a nanny, stop your search and call Adela immediately, and hope that you are able to retain her services before another lucky family does. Absolutely, without any hesitation, we would recommend Adela with confidence - she has been a godsend for our family and we feel incredibly lucky to have found her. We are saddened that our needs have changed, and soon we will only have a need for part time help – and since Adela is looking for full time employment, that means that we’ll have to part ways with someone who has truly become a part of our lives and family. When we started our search, we interviewed many, many applicants to take care of our daughter, who was a little over one at the time. What we found out there was a bit discouraging at first – we found a lot of college students or recent grads, who weren’t really “nannies”, but did some babysitting in their youth so figured they could easily transition to being a nanny. Unfortunately, many were just that – babysitters, and that was NOT what we were looking for. We went through 3 or 4 different people and were getting frustrated, when we brought Adela in for an interview – and we knew immediately that our long search had finally come to an end. Adela is truly a nanny. She has the skills, the patience, the temperament, and the experience to truly care for your child in the way that you would want him or her to be cared for. She came into our home and immediately set herself apart from the others whom we had hired before her. Our daughter immediately connected with her from the moment they met, and, as the time has passed, “Ada” as our daughter calls her, has become a fixture in her life. What sets her apart from everyone else? There are so many reasons, it would be hard to list them all, but I’ll try. First - her professionalism. Adela understands that working for your family is her full time job, and your home is her place of employment. Whereas with the “babysitters”, we had to specifically request what needed to be done each and every day, Adela knows without having to be told. Each and every day you will get a detailed written note of the days’ events – nap schedules, eating times, activities, and dirty diapers. They’re all there written for you each day. Next – her work ethic. Wow. With the ‘babysitters’, when our daughter slept, they would watch TV, or get online and kill time. When it was time to leave, they just left – sometimes with toys strewn all over our house. I don’t ask our nanny to clean our house for us, but I do expect that if you walk into a clean house in the morning, I’d hope that you would at least clean up the toys you’ve helped take out during the day. With Adela, we come home and our house is SPOTLESS. Unlike the ‘babysitters’, when she has downtime, she picks up toys, but that’s not all – as I said, we’ve never asked her to do any real housekeeping – that’s not her job – she’s our nanny, not our maid. But, with Adela, she likes to keep busy, and she likes helping out. We have come home countless evenings to find laundry done and folded, dishes done and put away, our bed even made. This past week she organized our kitchen utensil drawer! I’ve even come home to find her cleaning the glass on our sliding glass patio door. Our bi-weekly maid doesn’t even do that! Lastly, her caring personality. Adela truly loves our daughter, there is no doubt about it. When she comes each morning and our daughter screams with delight “ADA!” it is clear the feeling is mutual. She has been a teacher and a third parent, and we are going to miss her dearly.
Adela is simply one of the better nannies my family has ever had; she is a genuinely good person with a beautiful and generous heart. She was an instant click with the family. Not only did she get along great with the kids, the employer-employee relationship was so blissfully effortless and genuine; we never had to second guess with Adela – she is professional and yet disarmingly honest and open with her thoughts and suggestions; overall a great communicator.
She was a quick learner to our exacting standards of childcare – the nanny log was detailed and the nap and feeding schedule followed, the house was neat if not neater than how we had left it. She was proactive, stepping in to help out with tasks not even in her job description simply because she became fully vested in our family and intuitively know what help would be appreciated and then would go ahead, without being asked, to provide it without a moment’s hesitation – this trait has not been consistently demonstrated by any other nanny we have had since Adela.
An avid reader with a keen intellect, she is a very knowledgeable nanny who can offer many interesting insights into various topics of childcare from discipline, to potty training. Typically, the average “nanny” out there is still a student at large, looking to the parent to teach them; with Adela you get the sense that the learning is mostly done and she is just tweaking to perfection as she goes along.
For the relatively short period of time we had with her, we truly fell in love with her and when the work relationship ended due to our relocation it was emotionally traumatic for everyone. The kids ask about her to this day and when she manages to come visit, it is like there was never a moment’s separation - this is what really separates the real nannies from the rest.
True nannies are hard to find; Adela is one of those nannies. I hope any future families lucky enough to have her will treat her well because she is a gem.
We were fortunate to have Adela in our home for 2 years from July 2011 to July 2013....we would never had wanted to part ways except we moved to the suburbs. Adela truly enjoys working with children and our daughter, Emily, and son, AJ, absolutely fell in love with her (we did too!). Adela is very hands on with the children, always getting down to their level, playing with them down on the ground, keeping the day full of activities including trips to the park/beach. She taught our children so much and was especially helpful to me as our second child had colic for 7 months and Adela was able to keep both of us calm. Adela is a very hard worker and always liked to keep busy - whether it was doing dishes, laundry, organizing kids closets, even cooking us dinner! What an amazing treat to come home to after a long day of work.
Adela treated our home as her place of work - very dedicated and loyal. She never even called in sick once in 2 years. She is responsible and I enjoyed sharing ideas on child specific issues, particularly her "Romanian" cure that always worked for everything. Did I mention our daughter still speaks some of the Romanian Adela taught her?
The family that is lucky enough to have Adela in their home will be blessed with so much love. She is the only person my husband and I still trust our children with to this day.
I am happy to share more stories of Adela if you have any questions.
