Hello! My name is Kaylynn and I’m 31 years old and I work in early learning at Christ United Methodist Church. I am an assistant teacher and work in all of the rooms (ages 6 weeks to 5 years old). I have babysat since I was 12 years old and it is now my job to take care of children. I have my CDA which is a child development associate. I really love doing crafts, science, and baking with the children in my care.

I have always loved children and been involved with them - from newborn through early teens - whether through in-home care or in teaching/caring in church settings (including overseeing a church nursery for three years). I had many years of babysitting experience from the time I was 10 years old through college years, including infants and families with 4-5 children. My first year out of college, I nannied for a family of 5 children with a 6th baby being born a few months later. This family included a set of twins. I continued to babysit on the side over the next 10 years, and also volunteered some time (and was later paid) for a family expecting triplets. While the mother was on bedrest, I would do shopping and help with their other 2 children; then when the babies came, I would help by spending the night to relieve the parents, feeding and caring for all three babies. A couple of times, I would also take on of the babies home with me for 24 hours to give the parents a break. Later, I also did childcare on a consistent, but occasional basis for a family with 3 children over a period of a couple of years. In 2017-2018, I provided full-time care for a family who had a 6 year old boy and a newborn baby girl. In the time since then while involved in other work, I still have remained involved with young couples and their children, providing encouragement and counsel, especially to first-time mothers. While overseas, I also had a 5-year old girl who would come and stay with me on some weekends over a period of about 18 months. Finally, In the past, through working with children and teens, I did complete first aid and CPR training, but may need some refreshing. I also completed various trainings for my roles as a foster care caseworker and as a house parent.

I have 13 years of paid experience with kids. My grandma has had her home based daycare since I was eight years old, so childcare has always been a part of my life. I find that kids bring about a certain whimsical energy that I love to the job. I am of course first aid and CPR certified.
