Hello...here is a little about me. For many years I have been working with children in a number of roles which started as an old fashioned babysitter as a teenager which grew into more of a nanny and then I knew I had a natural gift and love working with children and keeping them safe and happy. From there I somehow fell into a wonderful role as an afterschool Director while in college which had me supervising a staff of 6, filling in as teacher when any of those staff members couldn't work, all hiring/overseeing State Certification regulations, and ensuring teacher/child ratio was always in compliance daily for children aged PreK-grade 6. Shortly after I found myself doing volunteer CCD teaching for 12 years, tutoring, and art therapy teaching with Hospice. A bit later I returned to school to pursue my M.Ed and while doing so worked as a Paraprofessional with Autistic students as well as a substitute teacher for grades Pre-K through 6. My journey led me to working as a classroom teacher for PreK-grade 6 and later with adults as well teaching ESL. I have also been trained in a number of areas such as specialized curriculum, CPR and First Aid. Educating and working with children is a true gift and something I have enjoyed in a number of ways as you can see in my background. I am also someone who loves games, reading, crafts, music, dancing, creative/imaginary play, and outdoor play and feel there is something for every age and know how to structure a fun and learning based day.
