Hello! Thanks for checking out my profile. As someone who spends all day learning and growing alongside children and adolescents, I'd love to find a great family to support on my evening/weekends. Currently, I am in the process of completing an Ed.M. in school psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University. Prior to this degree, I worked as a family counselor and K-5 science/teaching associate at schools here in Manhattan as well as in sunny Menlo Park, CA. I also have prior experience as a nanny for two great families in Boston and San Francisco with children ranging from K-6th grade. Oh and, I can hold my own in Spot It and special character voices for books at bedtime :-). Looking forward to meeting your family! I really enjoy kids! They are naturally authentic and interested in the world. I studied Math and Education in college, and got teaching experience in classrooms ranging from kindergarten to high school. I got certified to teach secondary math, and went on to do a year of Americorps service after college. I moved to Boston in 2007 and began babysitting until I figured out what was next. I enjoyed what I was doing so much that I went on to become a full time nanny the following year. I worked for three years for a family with three children- ages 2, 5, and 7 when I started. After the youngest was off to kindergarten, I took a new position, a nanny share caring for two 2-year old girls. I’ve also babysat for multiple families over the years ranging from overnights with infant twins to school vacation help for 12-year olds. I taught the preschool class at my church for 5 years as well. In October 2012, I had a daughter of my own! I began bringing her along to babysitting/ nanny positions, which worked out quite well. In 2019, after working as a nanny/ babysitter for 12 years, I transitioned to teaching. I worked as an assistant in a combined Pre-K/Kindergarten class for four years before becoming the lead teacher of a separate Pre-K class. I had another daughter in January 2024 and am currently exploring the possibility of a babysitting position where I can bring my 1-year old daughter along.

**Mature, Dependable, Punctual, Warm, Fun, Joyful, Patient, Career Nanny of 20+ years is seeking date night and/or weekend positions, including weekend overnights. I am only free on Friday afternoons to Sunday evenings.** I am passionate about my work as a nanny and consider it to be a noble and worthy endeavor. I am devoted to giving the children in my care the absolute best of everything: focused attention, nurturing, healthy foods, love and affection. One of my best qualities is being able to really engage and get into a child's world. I am a connector. This breeds trust and facilitates positive and healthy behavior in children. I love to play and be silly and help children develop their imaginations. I will do anything for a laugh. I am also a classically trained singer/pianist and am always making up songs and singing around my charges. Music is a great educator and so important to the development of a young child. I have a calm, easygoing personality and I am extremely patient, gentle and observant. I am a proponent for validating children's feelings and making them feel heard and seen. I practice saying 'please and thank you' with them as infants and by the time they are two they usually are saying it back to me. On walks to the park or elsewhere, I am always looking for teaching opportunities. I'll tip the stroller back to have them look up at the leaves on the trees or point out the bees kissing the flowers. I even make diaper changing fun. Modeling joy and positivity for children is deeply important to me.

I’ve had a passion for caring for kids for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, I loved helping care for younger kids at church, in my family, or anywhere I had the chance. I have experience as a babysitter, substitute teacher, and Residential Advisor, which has helped me develop strong communication skills, conflict resolution strategies, and the ability to create safe, structured environments where kids can thrive. I’m comfortable caring for up to two children of all ages. Whether it’s leading fun, engaging activities, helping with meals and nap time, or just being a dependable presence, I’m ready to support your family in whatever way I can. I’ve worked with kids from a wide range of backgrounds and personalities, and I love building connections with each of them. I’m excited to create a fun and safe space while gaining more experience and meeting your family’s needs.
