I've lived in Roslindale for 15 years now. I'm a K-5 teacher. I've worked as a nanny for 9 months for a toddler. Before that I taught for 3 years at Conservatory Lab Charter School and 1 year in an Elementary School in Charlestown, MA. I also worked in the after school program at CLCS. Later, I worked for a family as a nanny for their toddler. In both nanny positions I had additional duties such as cooking, shopping for groceries, picking children up from childcare, laundry, petcare, dishes, light housekeeping, errands, etc....
When I work with children, I like to do active things with them, such as taking them on long walks, or to playgrounds, or swimming. I enjoy playing tag, hide & seek, etc.... I often get down on the floor with kids and play or read books. I love to play music and dance to it with kids. I take them to museums, library activities, to the pool or beach.
I also like to sing lullabies and read bedtime stories to kids. I like to pull out a board game and play these with kids. I love playing jumprope and teaching them jump roping songs.

We interviewed, she accepted. I called the night before to confirm she will start. She had changed her mind...but failed to inform us about this.
The job interview, and job refusal all took place in the space of a week and I did not realize how difficult it would be to get there by public transit until I had spent quite a bit of time on the MBTA website trip planner trying to figure out some way to get there since I don't own a car. I did explain that to Binit, but I guess he felt I wasn't quick enough in figuring this out.
