Hi! I'm Karen. I am a devoted and loving mom of two young adults. As a former foster parent for the state of Maryland, I have cared for children of all ages and am CPR certified and first aid trained through the Red Cross. I have experience caring for children who have autism, ADHD and other disabilities. In addition to raising my own children and fostering, I acquired childcare experience through babysitting for family, friends and neighbors, previously working at a daycare center, leading classroom lessons and activities at my church and also substitute teaching elementary age students. Watching children learn and grow through engaging interaction is fulfilling and enjoyable to me. I like to occupy children with craft activities, art projects, games and puzzles, outdoor play, cooking lessons...anything that limits screen time and encourages imagination and creativity. Greetings! I 'm a child lover whose two daughters are grown and am not yet a grandmother (hope springs eternal!). I spent 17 years in outside sales and eventually found there wasn't much need for a middle-aged pharmaceutical rep. I found a position as night nanny which turned into being a day nanny and never looked back. I find it greatly rewarding to being able to spend my time making children smile and teaching them the skills they'll need to be successful in life. I might be a little stricter than you, but I try to make children understand that, in the words of the old Ford TV ads, "Safety is job ONE." Children are smart and they get it! I'm active outdoors playing with your children, I can pitch a baseball pretty well (my hitting skills are better, if you're training a pitcher) and I love to kick the soccer ball around. One of my kids even told me I was a good tennis player (in all honesty, he hadn't played much tennis). I love to take your children to the playground, , park, library, pool, or wherever you like. The mother of my current family had planned on keeping me until Fall of 2j022. Unfortunately, her job has become increasingly difficult and she has decided to stay home for a spell with her very special 2-year old. I'm currently looking for a full-time or nearly full-time position.
