Hello I’m Olivia! I am 25 years old and currently living in Maine but moving to Mass in the next couple months. I have been working with children for about 10 years now, my first childcare job besides babysitting was at 16 and I was working at a preschool! At 18 I went to Costa Rica for a little and helped work at a preschool over there. The past 5 years i’ve worked at a preschool that ranges from 6 weeks to 6 years old. I have been a lead teacher for 3 infant classes, the babies in my class at the moment at 3-8 months! I have lots of experience with kids of all ages but specialize in infant/toddler care. I’m looking for something more personal than another preschool when I move to Mass! Although I love being in that setting I appreciate the relationships and closeness you can get with a family! My goal is to hopefully be moved down by late August/September :)

I have worked with a multitude of kids, from 6 years old up through 17 year olds in a number of settings. As a youth group leader I worked with middle and high school students, forming relationships with these kids through planned activities, Sunday night dinners, going out for coffee and what not. As a camp counselor I worked with a range of kids, from 6 year olds up through 13 year olds. I was in charge of watching over their safety at the archery range, in the pool, ropes course while still maintaining a fun and positive attitude, singing songs, making up 'team' chants and what not. I have also worked as a live-in nanny, taking care of a group of four - 10, 13, 15, 17 - from homework help to helping learn how to drive, that was quite a wild experience and something I would love to do again. I'm a musician by trade and have been training to be an opera singer since I was 15. I am also very proficient in piano. Tennis is my favorite sport, I have played since I was a little kid and still enjoy getting on a court whenever I can. I'm very interested in meditation and mindfulness practices. My favorite weekend activity is hiking and camping. As a native of Maine, I grew up in the woods and still try to get out whenever time and money permits. Food is a huge passion and we are living in an age where so many different kinds of cuisines are accessible.

I grew up in a large family with 5 biological siblings and a newly added adopted sister! I’ve also been very fortunate to have a few nephews join the family in recent years. I enjoy spending time with children and love when I get to work in pediatrics at the hospital. I am currently CPR certified. I’m looking for some extra work outside of my job or would even be willing to leave my current position to work with kids more often when I’m not in classes or clinicals.
