Hello, I'm Cally! My passion is caring for and teaching children. I have quite the range of childcare experience, which includes being a daycare teacher, nannying for multiple families, babysitting, some college, and various trainings. I love the outdoors and I'm not afraid of getting dirty. I fully allow kids to express themselves and get messy, then include them in the clean-up process afterward. I love being silly, engaging in pretend play, and of course, art! I cannot wait to meet you and your littles :)

Upon graduating from college in 1995 I deciding to take a year to figure out what I wanted to do with my education. I became a live in nanny for the first time and from there I have worked for several families and have also taught preschool. Through all these experiences I have gained experience working with all age groups of children. While these experiences have given me great opportunities the one that stands out the most is being a mother. Until I became a parent I then realized how better to relate to children and how to best meet their needs. I have three children ages 15, 11, and 5. I have essentially been a stay at home parent and have worked for amazing families the last six years which has allowed me freedom to earn money yet still focus on my own children. I look forward to connecting with more families and seeing what I can offer.

Hi! I’m Gwyn, and I just recently relocated from Maine to Vermont. I am CPR certified! I am looking to get back into childcare. I have extensive experience working with children. I started at a daycare with ages 3 months to 4 years. I mostly worked in the preschool room where I ensured safety by supervising the kids, cleaned the space, and assisted with meal preparation. I also changed diapers and made sure the kids got their nap in during the specified time. I also worked at an after school program with ages preschool to 7th grade. This is where I was able to use my creativity to ensure a fun experience for the kids. I initiated a tie dye festival with t-shirts, and we had a mini duck scavenger hunt on the playground! We worked on lots of conflict resolution with peers. Some of my favorite memories there was the relationships I was able to build with the kids there, whether it was bonding on the swing sets, singing Taylor Swift, or making slime. Another place I have worked was the YMCA summer camp. I had a class of about 30 2nd graders. Part of the job was doing attendance regularly to ensure every child is accounted for. I created a way to incentivize good behavior and kindness towards peers by creating Lucky Duck. This is where if a child shows good or kind behavior, they were given a slip to write their name on, which would then be put into a jar. Every morning, I would pick a name out of the jar, and they would get a mini duck to keep, and get to be line leader, or carry the cooler (which they loved!) This was super helpful because we were able to incentivize being kind and respectful rather than punishing them when were not being kind or respectful. It also prevented conflicts about who was line leader or bring the cooler for us. Another part of the job was making sure we got the kids to the next activity on time. One of the activities was swim time, where we brought the kids down to the pool outside and they had the chance to swim for a couple of hours. I did so much more at these jobs, but these are just some of my favorites that I chose to highlight. I love childcare because I truly believe that the experiences you have as a child shape you into who you are as an adult, and I want to be that positive impact! Please feel free to reach out to me! I can’t wait to meet you and your kiddos!
