I also have two children of my own, so I do have experience with my own kiddos as infants and toddlers. First, I’ll begin by saying that I absolutely love children! Recently, I’ve worked as an Infant Room teacher at Skies the Limit Academy w/ ages 6wks-18mo., the YWCA on 2 different occasions, as a teacher’s aide in a Pre-K class (‘14), and as support staff for kids w/ special needs (‘18). I’ve been a class aid at the EHS Program in White Plains (‘17), working w/ ages 19mo. - 2yrs. I’ve also been a camp counselor w/ ages 10 & 11yrs (‘15), along with some in home babysitting arrangements, just to name a few... I enjoy working with children b/c of the experiences, simply put. I take pride in knowing that I’m doing what I can to enrich the lives of the kids I come into contact with, one bright mind at a time… I’m a pet owner myself, so I’m open to working in homes w/ animals. Hello! I am a senior at the University of Michigan-Flint majoring in English with an emphasis on writing and education. I have held a plethora of positions in the education field including the following: Lead Program Associate for Pre-College programming, fourth grade interventionist, and most recently a dropout prevention coordinator. I have a passion to work with and impact youth in any capacity. As a college student, I have a flexible schedule and I'm looking for more opportunities to work with youth. I am a retired medical transcriptionist and raised three sons. I have a 3-year-old grandson and a 3-week-old grandson with another grandson on the way. I recently took care of a little girl and a little boy for over five years until Covid hit. I don't think of taking care of children as a job -- it is something I enjoy.
