First, I’ll begin by saying that I absolutely love children! Recently, I’ve worked as an Infant Room teacher at Skies the Limit Academy w/ ages 6wks-18mo., the YWCA on 2 different occasions, as a teacher’s aide in a Pre-K class (‘14), and as support staff for kids w/ special needs (‘18). I’ve been a class aid at the EHS Program in White Plains (‘17), working w/ ages 19mo. - 2yrs. I love working with kids, and I have a lot of experience doing just that. As a college student, my job during the school is year is to be a literacy tutor for elementary students. I frequently go to elementary schools and help kid improve their literacy and comprehension skills, and I also work at a family learning institute where I frequently help kids with their homework. Additionally, I often volunteer at the local library tutor center to help students with their homework or just to talk with them while they wait for parents to pick them up. Working with kids has taught me that patience and understanding are very necessary skills to have. I believe that I have these skills, and I can be firm when necessary with children but also know the importance of being caring and gentle with kids. I truly love working kids and find that it is such a rewarding experience. It is so exciting to see kids learning or just having fun.
