I previously held a Michigan Day care license and provided in home childcare. I have also had many different pets. Mainly dogs and cats however I've also had birds, reptiles, fish and rodents. I have always enjoyed children of all ages. During the beginning of the Covid19 pandemic I lost my job. I was employed there for 40 years. I am now seeking a more enjoyable way to add to my retirement. I know that working families often times need help before and after school for their children. I can help you. I provided my in home child care while I worked part time in a manufacturing setting. I know life can be very busy balancing work and family. I have been working with children for 8 years now. There is nothing I love more than putting a smile on kiddos faces! I’ve been a swim instructor for over 4 years, and have worked with ages 4 months up too 15 years old in the water. I’ve nannied long term for twins and some kids with special needs. As a professional nanny, a camp counselor, and daycare provider for decades, I have had the opportunity to learn so much through these years from the children and young people and their families. During the Covid period when the children I've watched had to do online school I was responsible for their daily activities and homework making sure that they completed their work for the day and prepared for tests and projects, as well as checking in for attendance, etc and relaying messages to the parents, and taking the children to outings and events they couldnt go to themselves because of work expectations. To me it's not just about showing up but spending time with the children, doing fun activities, laughing, learning, enjoying the day and just being there for them. We have done everything from crafts to science experiments, going to the park, following a recipe and making fun food together, to visiting local nature exhibits and preserves, playing mini golf and so much more... All in all, I have really been blessed to have the chance to hopefully enrich children's lives and in the end I've gained more than words can express.
