Some background of my experience: After my senior year of high school, I nannied for my moms' coworker. She has 3 children, 2 boys 1 girl. The oldest was 9, the middle was 5 and the youngest was 1. When COVID started and shut down my college I nannied for her again due to her daycare provider shutting down. I also grew up helping my grandma in the daycare she owned. I hold a CNA license, but am taking a break from healthcare. I have a bachelors in child development. I encourage more play than screen time and when weather permits love being outside. I will ensure the safety of your child/children. I also ensure they have fun while I am with them.

I have always had a passion for working with children. I enjoy planning creative and educational activities to engage children in learning and self expression. I do not have children of my own, but I tell people I am a baby-whisperer because children flock to me. Even across the restaurant floor, I make an eye connection with a baby and get them to laugh or smile. I adore children. I babysat for multiple families during college (2 were full time scheduled weekly) and then through referrals, I babysat for several families as needed. If there was an event in town, it was almost a competition among the mothers to who could book me first. Sometimes we just compromised and had them all at one house so I could watch them all. I also am Super Aunt and Godmother to my nephew, who is my favorite human being in this world. I was there the day he was born - third person to hold him (not including the doctor); mom, dad, then Aunt Jenna. I ended up moving with them to Florida when he was only one month old. Living with them allowed me to see all the firsts, such as crawling, first steps, first words, etc. I was his "Aunt Nenna" and we bonded immediately. I babysat him many times when my sister and brother-in-law needed. We had many "sleepovers" at my house where he had his "own room" and we watched The Bee movie every time I put him to bed. Over the years our bond just got stronger and stronger and it was comforting for my brother-in -law to know that his son was in good hands, whether for the evening or God forbid if anything happened to them. That is a hard trust to find, I understand. However, over the past SIXTEEN years now, I have made it clear to them and everyone around me that he is still my "little buddy" and the love of my life. He is so sweet, and talented, and smart, to name a few. I am such a proud aunt but unfortunately he is in Alabama and I am now in Michigan. However, when we see each other it is as if no time or distance has come between us. I am still "cool" and get the best hugs from him and I can even buy Christmas gifts for him without him telling me what to buy.... He is always surprised how well I do, even not being in his life as much as I would like to be. I basically helped raised him and the joke is that I was his "second Mom". I would do anything for that kid, and I wish he was still living close to me. To sum up, I have 6-7 years experience babysitting all ages, and also helped raise my nephew from newborn through today at 16 (more Aunt advice than diaper changes now, lol), I have many skills when it comes to children and I always treat them as if they are my own. Especially my nephew. :)
