Syrena S., Nanny in Wyoming, MN 55092 with 17 years of paid experience

Hello, my name is Syrena! I am a SAHM (former STEAM teacher). I have one 2 year old daughter. I am looking to build a relationship with another family with a child who is close in age who needs occasional childcare (1-2 days a week or on call). I would be happy to pick your child up or you can drop them off at my house. I have over 17 years experience working with children. My daughter and I love to play, go to the zoo and find fun age-appropriate activities around the area. I finished my Associates of Science degree in Education in 2015 and worked (2016) as full-time Reading Corps volunteer in the Shakopee Public schools and as a part-time and summer nanny for 3 fun, athletic older kids. I was a full-time nanny for 3 kids (10 months, 3 years and 5 years) who I adored. Up until the time my daughter was born I was a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) teacher at a Christian private school. I love finding fun ways to keep children active and creative like going for nature scavenger hunts, finding new parks, painting, going to the zoo, doing art projects, dancing, visiting different libraries, finding free kids events, etc. When I nanny, I plan out an age-appropriate curriculum every week in order to ensure that my nanny kids are learning and maintaining a strong educational foundation. I believe that screen time can stunt creativity and brain development. I view punishment as a last resort and I prefer to keep kids busy, active and teach good social skills to avoid misbehavior in the first place. Teaching self-control and awareness can be difficult but it benefits children for the rest of their lives. I do not yell or spank because I believe it models poor behavior that children mimic. Thank you for spending a little time getting to know who I am, I would be honored to be considered for a position working with your family.
