I love finding fun ways to keep children active and creative like going for nature scavenger hunts, finding new parks, painting, going to the zoo, doing art projects, dancing, visiting different libraries, finding free kids events, etc. When I nanny, I plan out an age-appropriate curriculum every week in order to ensure that my nanny kids are learning and maintaining a strong educational foundation. I believe that screen time can stunt creativity and brain development. I view punishment as a last resort and I prefer to keep kids busy, active and teach good social skills to avoid misbehavior in the first place. Teaching self-control and awareness can be difficult but it benefits children for the rest of their lives. I do not yell or spank because I believe it models poor behavior that children mimic.
