I have spent 17 years working with children of many ages between babysitting , my first job working in a daycare following my day at high school. I believe this is where I truly felt my calling to work with children ignite. I took years off to have my own biological children and adopt twins with some special needs but when life allowed I found myself back in the Early Childhood setting excited to be a Lead Teacher for Pre-K and developing curriculum in literacy as well as the other core basics that are needed for school readiness. We had the best of days learning and growing together. Time changes and I relocated . This move found me in the Infant and Toddler room as busy as I was in the older children's rooms. The feeding, diapering, safe sleep routines, tummy time and curriculum development for each child's individuals level made each day pass quickly with so much joy and love. It is so much more than just the rocking of a baby although, this is an important part of the day . The first months and years of a child's life are when the brain grows and develops the most. Therefore, reading, talking , and singing to the baby are so important. Positive caregiving experiences. I have had many courses in a variety of Early Childhood Education . I have succeeded in getting my CDA (unfortunately , I let it expire but have the certificates to verify this ). I have taken many courses in first aid and CPR as it was a requirement for my places of work. My personal loves are spending time with my family, jogging, hiking, My two German Shepherds , fishing, reading, and writing. I love music too as I grew up playing the guitar with my dad.
