I am a junior at BYU, studying marketing. I grew up in North Carolina with 4 siblings and lots of little cousins. I would babysit for a lot of families in my church. I am very responsible, organized, and self-motivated. I love being around children because they bring me a lot of joy. I will be able to provide a safe and fun environment for your children!

I’m a retired science teacher/outdoor educator with 30 years experience working with children. I retired in January and would like to continue to work/teach kids. Most recently, I was an Aquatic Educator for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and have been running an afterschool fishing club for kids in grades 3-8 and have been teaching families with children ages 5 & up how to fish. I have a BS in Biology and was Certified to teach Middle Grades and High School Science and I have a Master’s Degree in Education with the concentration in science. I taught in public schools and private schools and then started the education programs at the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education for preK & up where I continued to work with outdoor education for kids until the flood in 2021. I have experience babysitting siblings, keeping them safe and engaged in activities, preparing snacks/meals, putting them down for nap/bed. I have done after school pick ups as well as driven kids to activities. I am good with pets. I have a dog and have kept one of my client’s dogs when they went out of town. I have had background checks and been fingerprinted in previous employment. I am 1st Aid and CPR certified. I have also raised my own child so I have experience with babies. Most evenings I have available as well as the weekend and my day shift availability jumps around a little so I would just need to coordinate schedules. I am the oldest of four children so I grew up comfortable in the role of "second mom." I am passionate about providing a high level of care consistent with the lifestyle and structure that the parents provide when they are home. Every family is different and as a childcare provider I try to maintain the environment expected by the parents through open lines of communication, I strongly believe that children learn through play, so park days, kitchen messes and dance parties are daily occurrences in my world! Basic household chores are never a burden and preparing a family dinner is something I'm happy to do as long as it doesn't interfere with my time with the children. The most important thing, however, is that I love what I do and look forward to spending time with children daily. No child should feel that they are a burden or a "job."
