I started babysitting some of my moms friends kid at an early age and I really just loved playing with the kids, I babysat all through high school because I didn’t have the schedule that allowed me to work lots of hours and I continued babysitting during the summer during college. I have been a teacher for 12 years at a private preschool in Vero Beach Florida and I have taught children from ages 2 to 5. I have also had the opportunity to work with children with disabilities and children on the spectrum. I am moving to Asheville so that my daughter can attend UNC for the next four years! We go over homework, read many books and I let him choose any activities he wants to do with me. We play a lot of sports, imaginative and make believe games together. During the summer months when he is not in school I make his lunch, take him to his sporting events, go over any lessons he needs to work on, bike ride, art activities, free play, read with him and bathe him and get him ready for dinner. I have also babysat for a family every Wednesday night for the last 5 years so the parents can have a date night. The children’s ages are 2,4,6,8 and 10. I also babysit several times a month for different families when I am called. I have been babysitting for over 12 years now. I have my CDA certification, am a member of NAEYC and I have my CPR/AED certification as well. I also maintain NAEYC hours and DCF hours every year through workshops and training courses.
