In addition to what is listed in my profile, right out of college I became a nanny for two adopted twins. One of them had special needs. I am a former nurse who raised four children of my own. My daughter who is 24 and my oldest is getting her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. I love working with children and watching their brains develop as they meet every developmental stage.

I am a professional, educated, and dependable caregiver. I started caring for children at a young age. In High School I lifeguarded, coached a swim team of 75 children (ages 5-18), worked at a daycare in the infant and toddler rooms, taught private swim lessons to ages 6mo-15, and had a book of families I babysat for regularly. In my past experience, encouraging imaginative play, setting up informative games, even directing them on a moral level (such as manners and sharing) are activities that can’t be neglected. To children, everything is a “game” of some sort. They need to be fueled in the right direction which requires a guardian that understands the balance between games and development. It is important for me to provide a stable, trustworthy connection with children that I care for in order to support their development and well-being. 

My background is in Early Childhood Education. I was a preschool teacher for over 10 years. I have been a private nanny for 2 years now. I am fun loving and reliable. My number one priority is make it sure that the children in my care are safe and well cared for.

I’ve worked with infants to teenagers and continued to stay on with families even as children moved out.
