My 'Prime Objective' as a Caregiver is nurturing a sense of wonder and curiosity in preschoolers -- and imagination plus reality-based competencies in the over-5s. (While keeping them safe and cared for, of course!) And I really prefer to avoid electronic screens for children! That's why I love to read with children. And bring intriguing books from my collection from classic to modern... Plus I'm always up for outdoor fun! And getting down on the floor and building things. Over years, I've put together a big wooden train collection with a SUITCASE full of tracks, specialty pieces like bridges, tunnels, ramps and connectors, with several battery powered remote controllable locomotives. Children 3-9 can literally spend enthralled HOURS assembling their own creative layouts then running trains. (While naturally enhancing their spatial intelligence, collaboration skills and 'stick-to-it-ness'...) Other options: a set of colorful wood blocks; tea sets (covert etiquette lessons and cookie baking!); princess and knight costumes for feeling special and dress-up play; Nerfball shooters (with eye protection!). An old-fashioned portable record player with classic vintage story records. Art supplies, an easel, squirt guns and sprinkler... For several years, I worked as a private-duty CNA and in-home Caregiver for elderly and disabled people. This type of upscale agency work requires immaculate background checks, excellent health, clean drug tests, reliability and being on time, as well as cheerfulness, compassion and competence. Now, I'm semi-retired, active and healthy, and LOVE interacting with children. In high school, I babysat for most of the kids in our neighborhood, was a paid Girl Scout Day Camp Counselor with full charge of eight 9 year old girls, had Red Cross Lifesaver Swimming Certification, and taught horseback riding. Elementary School Special Education TA 2 Years of experience in child care and education. Spent 10 months teaching in a Reggio-Emilia inspired child care center where I worked with age groups infants through pre-k aged children. Currently going into my second year as a Special Ed teacher assistant at an elementary school while also pursuing my associates in Elementary Education.

I have worked with children birth - pre-k for over 20 years in childcare. I am CPR certified, and I have credentials I & II in Early childhood education. Outside of the preschool I have also been a nanny, both families had infants and toddlers. I am a mommy of 10 year old twin girls, and I love working with children. I enjoy playing outside, taking walks, museum outings, singing and dancing with the children. I also teach them little things that are age appropriate.

I have been working in professional childcare since October 2014. In March 2015 I began working as a full-time nanny, and continued until August of 2023, when I took time off to return to school. As a nanny I have cared for children from five months to five years of age, including three sets of siblings (including twins), and a nanny share with children six weeks apart in age. Prior to nannying I worked in a daycare setting, caring for children as young as six weeks. Outside of my nanny and daycare experience, I have worked with children of all ages as a dance teacher, musical choreographer, and summer camp crafts director. I am CPR and infant/child First Aid certified, and have experience caring for children with moderate to severe allergies. Outside of work, I spend much of my time dancing, acting, choreographing musicals, reading, attending Bible study, singing, going to trivia, and working out.

Working with children is very rewarding! It's amazing to watch and contribute to their growth and learning. It's also pretty cool when you are intrumental in helping them find their passions, talents and Skills in life.
