Hey everyone! My name is Shannon McGlynn and I’m looking for a some babysitting positions for the summer. A little about me - I just recently graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University. I now live in the Raleigh and will be teaching 5th grade this upcoming school year. Therefore, I’m completely open for the remainder of the summer. After August 21st, I can work evenings and weekends! I have a plethora of experience with kids, I have worked in a daycare with ages 1 month - 5 years, nannied for two different families (each family had two kids), and have taught grades kindergarten - 4th during my education. I love being a sitter because I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and helping them feel safe, happy, and supported. I love being part of their day-to-day lives, whether it’s playing games, reading together, exploring creative activities, or helping with homework. Watching children grow, learn new things, and gain confidence is incredibly rewarding, and I take pride in creating an environment where they can thrive and feel cared for. I have over four years of experience working with children of all ages, from newborns through middle school. My experience includes working in after-school programs, summer camps, and private nannying, where I have learned how to adapt to each child’s unique needs and personalities. I currently nanny for a family in the High Country and have cared for multiple families over the years, giving me a strong foundation in planning daily routines, managing group activities, and providing individualized attention. In terms of skills and training, I am CPR certified and currently pursuing a degree in Elementary Education at Appalachian State University. I am responsible, patient, and organized, and I focus on creating a fun, nurturing, and safe environment. I am happy to assist with meals, bedtime routines, transportation to activities, educational support, and tidying up the house as needed. I also have experience pet-sitting, which allows me to care for the whole family, not just the children. Overall, my goal is to be a reliable, caring presence that both children and families can trust and enjoy having in their lives.

Hi everyone! My name is Kendra and I am a Biology graduate student and lab instructor at Appalachian State University! I am completing my master’s degree in the spring (May), also teach general biology classes, and I am looking for a nanny job shortly before/after my graduation! I have 2-3 years of babysitting experience, 10 years pet sitting experience. My rate may be higher than some folks to compensate for my education! I (nearly) have a master’s degree in biology, as well as a BS, and a minor in psychology. I have research experience in both areas that give me extensive knowledge on health, first aid, safety procedures, education, phenomenal homework help for all ages, conflict resolution, teaching skills, and and many other skills that make me the perfect, safest person to trust with your little ones!
