I also worked as a camp counselor at a Philadelphia neighborhood Arts Enrichment Camp, where I developed art lessons and activities for groups of children ages 4-7. The single most important thing I learned during this summer was that while teaching art and fostering art appreciation was important to me, I realized that striving to build character, self-esteem and self-worth in the campers was even more important and gratifying. I just returned to Philadelphia from a 7-month trip exploring beautiful areas of the West coast and I feel endlessly inspired.
