My name is Devrie, I recently finished my bachelors degree in History with a pre-law concentration. I worked as a Family Service Specialist II for the Division of Welfare for 4.5 years until I left in February 2024. I loved the aspect of helping people, however I always wished I could keep my clients long term to see their growth. I have worked with all populations in the Henderson and Vegas area, I was well known in the office for my ability to calm even the most distraught clients as well as their children. I loved working with families to help them get back on their feet. But my love of children probably comes from being an older sister! I helped raise my two younger brothers who are a huge part of my life. I am fiercely protective of all children but especially protective of my siblings. I wish all children could have someone in their life who is attuned to their needs, I know first hand how important it is. I currently work part time as a substitute teacher for CCSD. I love interacting with all the different ages and education levels. I have been successful in classroom management as a substitute but I think my greater accomplishment is that I have been able to connect with so many students which has ultimately contributed to positive behaviors and attitudes in the classroom! I worked as a nanny for 2 years for 3 children ages 0,2, and 5. I loved my time with them and it taught me how to juggle the needs of multiple kids at different stages (infant, toddler etc.) I have a ton of hobbies including sewing, reading, camping, painting, refurbishing furniture, party planning, reading, gardening, and more. I have 3 dogs, 2 doodles and a Lhasa apso! I like to take my dogs on walks to the park near our house and provide enrichment activities for them.
