Samantha M., Nanny in Lake Grove, NY 11755 with 16 years of paid experience

My name is Samantha, My childcare experience includes almost 20 years of babysitting for children from newborns to teens, full time nannying, vacation nannying and babysitting, 2 years as a pre-k assistant teacher working with 4 and 5 yr olds, 2+ years of daycare experience working with primarily the young infants, 4 weeks to 1 year, and experience as a nanny with up to 3 children. I have experience with twins and larger families, and physical and mental disabilities. In addition I have been a certified nursing assistant since 2017, and am comfortable and trained in administration of CPR, first aid, Heimlich, can handle children with complex medical/emotional/social needs. I also have one 10 month old baby girl of my own. I genuinely love working with children, and find that as much as I try to teach them, and help them discover new things, it is usually they who teach me. I am easy going, hardworking, and easy to get along with. I am very confident in my ability to care for children and create a safe/educational and supportive space for them. I enjoy doing crafts/cooking/playing games/ reading, depending on the parents comfort level I also love taking them for walks, trips to the park or other small day trips when possible. I am happy to offer advice or ideas/suggestions, and to proactively come up with solutions to problems, but following and adhering to the rules and procedures and schedules that you have for your children and home are my main priority. I am currently looking for a position or positions where I can take my daughter with me. (I would have backup childcare for days when she is sick or has appointments). I am looking for a minimum of 15 hours a week, all the way up to full time hours. I have a reliable vehicle and am comfortable driving children. I have had background and driving checks run through Sittercity, and would welcome outside background checks if you would so wish.

Rosalie D., Nanny in Lake Grove, NY 11755 with 30 years of paid experience

Hello Families, I've had great experiences with working both as a nanny (24 years-6 years with one family, most recent family was for 4 years 2014-2018) caring for children newborn to 7 years old, and as a teacher (daycare/preschool) for over 3 years teaching from 3 months to 5 years of age. I truly love being around kids and the fact that they allow me to enjoy the day and have fun. I try to incorporate learning experiences into everything that I do with them (counting number of food items/toys we are playing with, saying the color of items being used/seen, reading the signs we see along our walks and such). I incorporate the kids' interests in the daily activities to keep them entertained while learning. I enjoy seeing/teaching a child something new. I incorporated sign language into my infant class (during my time as a nanny as well) to allow them to talk before they have developed their speech skills. To help encourage them to reach their important early milestones, for the young ones, I do: tummy time; reading; lots of music -sing/play along; sensory toys; mirror play; help with hand-eye coordination and such. I love music and doing arts and crafts, especially for the holidays. I enjoy the outdoors and going for walks, the beach, parks, zoos (Ecology Center is the best) and making use of the local library or even pet/local stores (when the weather keeps us indoors). I have no problem helping care for your pets as well while I'm there. I'm a big animal lover I have to rescues of my own. I would like to also mention that I held a CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) up until 2016. My certification expired due to lack of hours. The experience of working in a hospital/nursing homes along with CPR/AED certification has allowed me to be fully prepared for emergencies. I held my NYS Teaching Assistant Certification (K-12) as well. I have had background screenings done with the most recent one with the last family (2014). I feel that I am pretty flexible and I like to be up front and look for that in the family I work with. I feel open communication is a good quality for both sides to help things run smoothly. I have enjoyed becoming a part of the family, in the past, and I am hoping to find that again. I have letters of recommendation from families I worked for other than what is listed on my profile. I will give contact information when it's needed Thank you for your interest in me and I wish you luck in finding the right person for your family
