My expertise and specialty is speech, reading, comprehension, study skills including memorization and new to writing learner's, with a focus on fine motor skills for the youngest and children that need extra help with their sounds. Teachers run in my family so my passion for teaching children isn't a big surprise. I am a responsible, clean person and all children seem to love me. I am fun, attentive, but also strict. I'm big on getting your homework done after a snack and then going out to play, picking up after yourself and respect. I will always lead by example. Privately and professionally I have worked with infants and toddlers as well. I approach each child on their level. I'm very helpful with potty training. Last but not least safety. It is my duty while your children are in my care to make sure that they're safe, fed, happy, and well for you while you're away. I'm know CPR for all ages. I'm big on communication and updating the parents throughout the day with their children. I like to keep parents in the loop especially of any changes throughout the day. It's important to me have a good working relationship with the family as a whole. Hi I’m Sophia! I’m a college student currently attending SBU. I'm a junior double majoring in Business and Psychology. I am American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certified for Infants, Children, and Adults. I’ve had 5 years paid experience in childcare starting as a mother’s helper, to babysitter, to nanny. Over the past 5 years I’ve worked with several different families. I started working at my university’s child care Infant-Toddler Room in January 2022 in which I assist with taking care of 15 children ranging from 3 months to 3 years old!
