I am an honest, caring, responsible, friendly and vegan 47-year-old married woman who moved from Spain to NJ in December of 2011. I come from a big family (I am the youngest of 8 siblings!) and I grew up with small kids always around me (nephews, nieces and neighbors). My work experience there was basically office & Accounting work, since I have a degree in Accountancy, but once I moved here, I decided to take care of kids thanks to my great experience in the past, not only in Spain but also when I moved to Ireland for 6 months in 2004 to improve my English. Once there, I worked with 2 families taking care of their 8 month-old baby boys. It was a wonderful experience that I still cherish today. During my first 5 years here I took care of 2 brothers since they were babies and I can honestly say that I loved it (and love them!) and I feel so privileged to witness what two wonderful boys they became! Since then, I was lucky to take care of infants in a Day Care and work with 2 different families. I have been working with children since I was 16 years old from ages 4 months- 12 years old. I grew up as one of the oldest to many cousins and loved going to work with my mother who was a teacher, which is where my passion started. I started babysitting at 16 and have been working in childcare programs since 2019. I started at a daycare in 2019 working with children from age 5 months to 13 years old. As someone who has always loved and connected with children, since I was a child, there has always been a special place in my heart for working with children! Even after getting my bachelors degree in psychology, I decided to focus on child psychology! I’ve worked with families as a babysitter, as a live out nanny, I’ve also worked at elementary schools and preschools and daycares! I love kids and I also love animals, particularly dogs, so if you have any pets, that’s always a plus for me! I do have a small dog sitting business on the side, but my childcare responsibilities always come first. For about 20 years now, on and off, I’ve worked with children ranging in age 2-14 years old. I do have experience with babies as young as 2 months old. I didn’t include babies under 2 in my bracket because I just have MORE experience with children aged 2 and over. But yes, I’m confident in my ability to care for babies!!! I’ve also worked with children who had certain special needs such as being on the spectrum, having ADHD, sensory impairment issues, etc. , but I don’t have a TON of experience as a paraprofessional. I grew up around art/in the art world, as my grandfather was a pretty famous painter! My grandfather taught me to appreciate art and creativity and the beauty of being unique/ special! Anything creative or artsy, count me in! I LOVE anything art-related, and while getting my bachelors, I discovered how important and impactful art can be to a child! So, that’s it!
